We know that teachers and pupils are faced with unique circumstances this year, and so it is our goal to make participation and engagement with the Awards as simple and rewarding as possible. The Our World Awards seek to enable pupils to learn about the lives of children and their families in developing countries and how Ireland, through Irish Aid, and 192 other countries in the United Nations are working together to create a safer and fairer world, and a better future for all. The annual Our World Awards programme helps teachers and pupils from 3 rd-6 th class to bring the world into the classroom! We can help you to bring global development and human rights issues into your teaching for Social Environmental and Scientific Education (SESE), Social Personal and Health Education (SPHE) and for cross-curricular work. Irish Aid can offer you resources, ideas and information to help pupils understand the links between their lives and those of people in developing countries. Bringing global issues into your classroom as part of the primary school curriculum is easier than you might think.
